Bonus Regular Pick Candidates

4th June 2025 at 11:46am

The Rules

In the regular pick round, a host may make an extra regular pick if one of their picks from the previous 3 corresponding games was incorrect at the time but has since come true, as per The Bill of Rickies.

This page shows each host's incorrect picks from that game type. This publication tracks picks that were ahead of their time, but this is an unofficial ruling, so it is merely presented for convenience.

Keynote Games

🇺🇸 Stephen's incorrect picks from the last 3 Keynote Games

Type2024 September RickiesScore
Stephen Regular "The iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are larger than their predecessors" 0
  • Stephen meant "Pro" and "Pro Max", but no one caught what he had actually written.
Stephen Risky "The iPad mini is updated with an A17 Pro or higher and a larger, brighter display. It will run Apple Intelligence." -1
Type2025 WWDC RickiesScore

  • Like a previous pick, this pick was prophesied in a dream, and one detail of the dream (the size of the Mac Pro wheels) was already confirmed, so it's basically a lock.
Type2025 September RickiesScore
Stephen Regular "The iPhone Pro and Pro Max have different camera systems" 0
Stephen Risky "The iPhone Pro and Pro Max come in a unique finish" -1
  • "It refracts/reflects light."

Type2023 Annual RickiesScore

  • Ungraded: "Action Button, flat glass or crown guard, for example"

  • Midway through the year... an interesting development, but the grading debate hasn't been had yet.

🇬🇧 Myke's incorrect picks from the last 3 Annual Games

Myke Risky "Apple introduces a new smart home product that features a screen..." -1
  • "It will be in the HomePod line of products."
  • "It will feature eye or hand tracking as a way to control the interface without needing to touch the screen."
  • "And it will feature support for third party apps to run on the device."
  • Apps may not necessarily come from a dedicated App Store, it may be more like CarPlay or some form of mirroring. Just widgets or Live Activities will not count, there has to be UI that you interact with.

🇮🇹 Federico's incorrect picks from the last 3 Annual Games

Type2023 Annual RickiesScore
Federico Risky "Apple will release its biggest iPad ever with a display of at least 16 inches..." -1
  • "... It won't be OLED, it'll have the front-facing camera on the landscape side, and two USB-C ports at least. It'll be called iPad Studio."
Type2024 Annual RickiesScore
Federico Risky "A new iPad Pro will feature..." -1
  • "... a front-facing camera on the landscape side, higher than 27W fast charging, and eventually support more than 4 windows in the same Stage Manager workspace."
  • Before the episode, this pick also included the detail of some models coming with more than 16 GB of RAM, but in keeping with the new, less outlandish tone of risky picks, Myke asked that it be toned down a bit.
  • In the new rules, this would've earned some points, but with some parts wrong, it's wrong.
Type2025 Annual RickiesScore
Federico Regular "A new AirTag is introduced with better tracking capabilities" 0
Federico Risky "Apple announces a new standalone "Siri app" based on a new LLM that will..." -1
  • "Be multilingual and support multiple languages at the same time."
  • "Support multiple modalities – e.g. text input, voice input, or image attachments in the same conversation."
  • "Display content from third-party apps inline based on a new developer framework."
  • If the overall pick about a "Siri app" is wrong, all the details will be counted as wrong as well. But that won't be a problem because Federico thinks that this approach is "so obvious".
